This is an interesting match-up. A beleagured BC team, picked to finish last in the Big East has looked good beating Appalachian State and Monmouth in the last 2 days. Witchita State, picked to win the Missouri Valley Conference, has just gotten by, beating LaSalle and Hampton by 3 points each.
BC's starting point guard, Sophmore Louis Hinnant, left Saturdays game with a sprained wrist and did not play last night. He is doubtful for tonight. Freshman, Steve Hailey filled in very nicely playing 35 minutes, with one turnover.
BC lost Troy Bell to graduation and Ryan Sidney left the team. They also lost Andrew Bryant, and a top recruit who left the team in September. So BC is supposed to be way down this year.
Wichita is returning their top 7 players from last years 18-12 team. They have been picked to finish 1st in the MVC. I don't know as much about them.
Al Skinner has been great at getting the most out of BC in recent years. 3 years ago he led a team picked to finish last in the Big East to a Big East tourney championship, and a #3 seed.
I got a feeling BC is not going to be as bad as people think this year. I like them in this spot (-1), but I would be interested in hearing more educated opinions on this game.
